Expressive therapy groups have always been an integral part of the therapeutic approach at Fermata d’Autobus. These include, but are not limited to, art therapy, photo art therapy, music therapy, dance therapy, ceramics, theater, screen printing, and sewing. Expressive activities complement and support psychotherapy – without replacing it – through the relationship established between the patient and the therapist, mediated by the created artwork, music, and bodily expression.
The use and development of expressive means, along with non-verbal communication, free the participant's imagination, bringing forth free associations and unconscious content that would otherwise remain unexpressed. This serves as a valuable tool to help overcome psychological and social difficulties.
The scheduling of weekly meetings addresses the need to give a temporal structure to the community stay and provides opportunities for new interactions while remaining within the therapeutic framework.
The range of expressive therapy activities includes continuously active offerings and additional workshops that are initiated at certain times of the year.
